Cutting a trench consists in forming a continuous vertical wall, being a result of mechanical excavation of native soil and replacing it with bentonite/cement grout (binding and sealing).
{Play}
A continuous joint is formed under a cover of sealing bentonite grout, which enables sustaining its walls’ stability.
Partitions made of so-called pure material, where soil from the joint is replaced with bentonite/cement mixture, are particularly useful for acidic soils or in soils characterised with high risk of occurrence of interleaves of such soils where mixing injected substance with native soil is impossible, and therefore forcing excavation of such soil.
Thickness of a partition depends on operating width of coupled cutting/excavating tool and may range from 35 to 60 cm. DABI performs partitions up to the depth of 14 m.
